Adam Claydon-Platt, Director
Adam grew up in Australia,
and traveled the world a lot before visiting Japan.
He fell in love with it quickly: the people, the culture, the food; everything
about Japan intrigued him. He came with the impression
that Japan was just one big city, but after buying
a motorbike and touring much of the country, he realised
there was so much more to it than just neon and sushi.
The natural beauty of the mountainous countryside,
and the warmth and generosity of the local people
amazed him. An avid fan of snowboarding, hiking, and
scuba diving, his adventures carving fresh tracks
in waist-deep powder in the Japanese Alps, and diving
in some of the best underwater conditions in the world
(amazing visibility!) made him realise that Resort work in Japan would give foreigners the chance to see a natural side of Japan not many know exists!
boobooSKI
was born from passion: a love for the snow. After
the initial excitement of giving up his English teaching
job, though, Adam realised that you need more than
just love and passion to succeed. The first year was
hard, with long-hours, and sleepless nights. More
than once, he thought about giving up, but hearing
about the boobooSTAFF's experiences at the end of the first season made it
all worthwhile. Since then, all the unexpected issues
and problems that arise seem so much easier to solve,
now that he knows Resort work Japan is such a
rewarding experience for boobooSTAFF!
Adam's various duties as Director
encompass a little
bit of everything, including Advertising, Support,
Logistics, and even Web Design (don't blame him for
the company name - that was his brother Stuart's idea!)
;) You'll also most likely meet Adam when you arrive in Japan, or occassionally at your resort (he'll be the one with snowboard/mask and snorkel
in hand, and a grin on his face). If you ever have
